Air Force Captain Robert Brevick
Air Force Captain Robert Brevick joined the military because he wanted to make a difference for his country while honoring the memory of his grandfather, who was a pilot in the Berlin Airlift operation during the Cold War.
Many years in the Air Force had a debilitating effect on Captain Brevick’s health. He has long suffered from hearing loss, and he has dealt with chronic migraines since 2003. He experiences as many as a dozen migraines per month. He also suffers from injuries to his lower back and knees from a fall during his officer training, as well as tinnitus, asthma, plantar fasciitis and PTSD.
For his service to his country, Captain Brevick has been awarded the Commendation Medal, Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Outstanding Volunteer Medal, National Service Medal and the Outstanding Unit Award.
Captain Brevick, his wife Shakira, and their three children will be gifted a mortgage-free home in Colorado Springs, Colorado in July of 2017.
